Dear Members and Friends of the Oskar Halecki Institute in Canada,
With great pleasure, I would like to announce the nomination of Dr. John Lenczowski, Founder, President Emeritus, and Chancellor of the Institute of World Politics (IWP) in Washington, D.C., as our new Honorary Member of the Oskar Halecki Institute in Canada.
Dr. John Lenczowski was a member of the Security Council during Ronald Reagan’s administration, and he personally contributed to the ultimate defeat of the Soviet Union and its collapse at the beginning of 90’s in the last century, without a single shot.
The Board of Directors of the Oskar Halecki Institute in Canada nominated Dr. John Lenczowski unanimously as an Honorary Member of the Institute on June 23, 2026.
We congratulate Dr. John Lenczowski as he continues to contribute to leadership in teaching statecraft, intelligence, and international affairs through the Institute of World Politics, a unique graduate school he founded in 1990. It also houses the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies, with which we have cooperated for many years. Currently, he is also a member of our Program Council, which brings together experts from different fields and contributes to our Institute.
