_____________________________________________________________________________________Mr. Tomasz Adam Żagoń completed his B.E.S. (Honours Geography, remote sensing/sea ice) at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario in 1995.Initially, he worked in the private sector, at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) in Ottawa, and later at Fednav Group of Companies. From 2008 to the present he has been working in various research and managerial positions at Meteorological Services of Canada, ECCC, Ottawa, Canada.
His specialty is research into the utilization of new space-based sensors (onboard RADARSAT-2 and RCM) in providing information on sea ice in Canadian and other sea waters. He was a member of a series of studies on the Canadian Arctic including the Northwest Passage. He played a crucial role in the Parks Canada-led effort to findlost Franklin expedition vessels (2010-2016).
