INVITATIO TO MEMORIAL EVENT
The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was a treaty signed between the German Third Reich and the Soviet Union Socialist Republic (USSR) in Moscow on August 23, 1939. The secret protocol of this treaty divided the territories of Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland among the signatory powers. It resulted in the outbreak of WWII when Nazi Germany invaded Poland
on September 1, 1939, followed by the Soviet invasion of Poland on September 17, 1939, and the later invasion of Finland on November 30, 1939.
Every year on August 23, Canada observes Black Ribbon Day to commemorate victims of Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Russia, two totalitarian regimes.
Poland was attacked first. Please join us and commemorate the millions killed and murdered during and after this war, which opened the division of Europe for almost half a century during the subsequent Cold War era. Millions of Europeans were forced to be in the Soviet zone of influence and suffered many crimes imposed on them by the Soviets and the communist forces.
Nie może nas zabraknąć i wspomnieć wszystkie ofiary, a także ofiary obecnej rosyjsko-ukraińskiej wojny zapoczątkowanej aneksją Krymu w 2014 i inwazją sił rosyjskich 24 lutego 2022.
Wojna rosyjsko-ukraińska stanowi istotne zagrożenie nie tylko dla pokoju w Europie, ale na całym świecie.
Prosimy zapoznać się za załączonymi materiałami i prosimy o rozpropagowanie ich wśród społeczności polsko-kanadyjskiej.
Weźmy udział w upamiętnieniu ofiar na Parliament Hill, we wtorek 26 sierpnia, godz. 18:30 z udziałem parlamentarzystów kanadyjskich, korpusu dyplomatycznego
i przedstawicieli społeczności wywodzących się z Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej oraz wszystkich tych co pragną pokoju. Od 2012 roku urządzamy w Ottawie
uroczystość upamiętnienia ofiar spowodowanych przez Pakt Mołotow – Ribbentrop.
Niech nie zabraknie polskich flag, za które oddawali życie nasi Ojcowie i Dziadowie podczas II Wojny Światowej.
